Growing interest in the preservation of traditional local breeds and crops can be observed, not only because their relevance regarding biodiversity, but also for reason of their specific taste and product qualities. In the course of agricultural modernisation during the last decades, knowledge of these traditional local breeds and crops decreased, as did their economic value. Slovak association AGROEDUKA is active in the rural areas and communicates regularly with farmers, manufactures of agricultural products and local action groups from both Slovakia and border regions in the Czech Republic. It can exchange its experiences from the field of organic agricultural production (both cattle and crops), as well as herbs planting and production of herbal teas.
